Samsung Targets 10 Million Galaxy S III Sold in July

SamsungElectronics believes that sales of its mobile handset Galaxy S III, launched in late May to compete with Apple’s iPhone, will exceed 10 million units during the month of July.

This is the best sales performance in the Korean group the smartphone segment.

Samsung also believes that the benefit of the division will be combined in the second quarter higher than the first, and hence form against those who disagree, markets, fear that lack of supply of components and a depressed world economy does undermine its results.

The stock has lost 4.23% Thursday, while the Kospi index in Seoul Stock Exchange yielded 1.2%.

“The overall market conditions are harsh due to the problems of the area and availability of components tense (…) but the results of our second quarter will be better than the first,” said the press JK Shin, head of the division of Samsung mobile.

The benefit of this division has nearly tripled in the first quarter, to $ 3.6 billion, representing 73% of operating profit of Samsung.

Samsung sold 44.5 million smartphones in the first quarter, which gave it a market share of 30.6%, against 24.1% for Apple with 35.1 million copies.
