Named World’s Best Cars in 2012 Word Car Awards – List
The organizers of the prestigious international competition “Car of the Year 2011” (World Car of the Year) released a list of models that will fight for victory in two categories – “World Car of the Year” and “World Sports Car of the Year.
The jury consisting of 66 specializing in automotive topics of journalists from around the world, selected from 10 models in each category are listed below in alphabetical order.

Chevrolet Volt / Opel / Vauxhall Ampera
Citroen DS5
Ford Focus
Land Rover Evoque
Porsche 911
Volkswagen Up!
“World Sports Car of the Year”
Audi RS 3 Sportback
BMW 1 Series M Coupe
BMW M5
Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
FF Ferrari
Lamborghini LP 700-4 Aventador
McLaren MP4-12C
Mercedes Benz CLS-63 AMG
Mercedes-Benz C-63 AMG Black Series Coupe
Porsche 911
For three finalists in each category will be announced at the Geneva International Motor Show on March 6. Winner of World Car of the Year will be announced April 5 at the New York Auto Show.
Past winners in the category “World Car of the Year” (in order from 2011 to 2005): Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Golf VI, Mazda 2, Lexus LS 460, BMW 3-Series and Audi A6.
