Apple to Apply for Dual-Mode Headset Patents: Can act as an External Speaker

Apple with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday submitted a patent application on the new headset, this headset also as an external speaker .

Apple said in the file of this application, the patent relates to a dual-mode headset, whether it is worn in the ear, or on the surface, it can pass the sound.

This headset has a circuit to detect its own position, you can feel when placed on the ear or around the ear, so users will not be frightened by the sudden sound. When headphones act as external speakers, a built-in megaphone will amplify the sound of the audio to pass higher sound output.

In this mode, the audio interface can also be away from the surface of the transmission sounds louder so that the sound in the room. Users can also manually adjust the headset settings to make it in the transition between the two modes.
